SSH Colors for Dark Backgrounds

By default on most Linux distributions, terminal application foreground colors are set up for a light-colored background.  The following shows how to set the appropriate foreground colors for dark-colored backgrounds.

$ dircolors -p > ~/.dir_colors

After changing, re-login and type ls to view changes.
